Meijer Gardens

Last Saturday (May 30), we went to Meijer Gardens for the morning. Our Children's Museum membership let us get in to the Gardens for free during the month of May. However, a lack of warm Saturdays and a busy month meant we didn't get there until the very end of the month.

The boys had a great time. They actually let us look around inside for awhile. They were quite interesting in the varieties of cacti, and VERY interested in a large, ugly bug we found inside the tropical room. Of course, their favorite parts were still the walk along the boardwalk (saw lots of turtles!), the 'farm' with its working water pump and dinner bell, and of course, the Children's Garden. We intentionally went there last, as TJ always gets soaked. He did okay this year...only a wet shirt.

Sam is smiling because he sees water!

TJ and the ugly bug:

TJ informed me he is 'not scared' of DaVinci's horse anymore. Good! It's one of my favorite photo ops:

I'm actually surprised Sam played with the boats instead of analyzing the system of pumps, nozzles and drains that made the whole fountain work. I know I was thinking about that the whole time I was sitting there.

You didn't give him enough playtime. Eventually, he would have dismantled the entire thing!
